mCast privacy.

The short version: mCast sends nothing to Terawiz. Your groups, people, templates and history stay on your device, and mCast never sends a message by itself.

This policy covers the mCast app for iPhone and iPad, published by Terawiz Consulting (“Terawiz”, “we”, “us”). Our general policy for the website and our other services is on the privacy policy page.

1. What mCast collects

Terawiz collects nothing. mCast has no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking, it has no servers of its own, and it includes no third-party software that collects data.

2. What mCast does with your data

  • Contacts — when you add people from Contacts, iOS shows its own contact picker and gives mCast only the people that you pick. mCast copies their name, phone number, email address and company into its own groups. It never reads the rest of your contacts and never changes them.
  • Files — when you import a CSV file, mCast reads only the file that you choose.
  • Groups, people, templates and history — everything you create in mCast, including the consent notes and opt-out flags that you record, is kept in a file on your device that iOS encrypts while the device is locked. It is not uploaded anywhere. You can erase all of it from Settings in the app, and it is removed when you delete the app.
  • Sending — mCast prepares each message and hands it to Messages, Mail, WhatsApp or the iOS share sheet. You check it and send it yourself. The message then travels through that app and your carrier or provider, under their own privacy policies; mCast does not see what happens after you send.
  • Rewriting with Apple Intelligence — on devices that support it, mCast can shorten or reword a message with Apple’s on-device language model. The text is processed on your device and is not sent to Terawiz.
  • Reminders — if you ask mCast to remind you to send later, it schedules a notification on your device. Nothing is sent at that time without you.
  • Exports — you can share a send log as a CSV file through the iOS share sheet. It goes only to the app and recipient that you choose.

3. Your responsibilities when you message people

You decide who you message and what you send. If you send promotions, the law where you live may require consent and an opt-out; in South Africa this is section 69 of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). mCast helps by recording how you know each person, adding who the message is from and an opt-out line to promotions, and skipping people who opted out.

4. Children

mCast is not directed at children, and it collects no information from anyone.

5. Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version at this address with a new effective date.
