Terawiz started in web and hosting. The old logo still says Cloud Services, and the hosting desk is still here: 84 mailboxes across 23 domains on a server we run ourselves. The first Terawiz apps went onto the App Store in 2011 and are still there.
Most of the work now is networks. Wireless ISPs in the North West with hundreds of radios and a carrier handover at the end of each region. A transit operator in Johannesburg with a monitoring centre and a wall to fill. Integrators bidding on public-sector networks who need the technical volume written by someone who has run one.
Almost everything we build comes out of operating something: a report that was needed every hour, a dashboard the wall needed, a restore script the morning after a router died.
Then it gets kept, documented and reused. That is the whole method. The name is tera, as in 1012, and the w is red. That is the whole brand.
